It is Hooked on Friday again. Julie over at Hooked on Houses hosts a blog party every Friday and invites other bloggers to share their "hooks". You can play too, but even if you don't, you may enjoy traveling through the blogs that are linked to Hooked on Houses.
Regular readers know that I am hooked on text, especially for my home. I seem to attract numbers, letters, signs and slogans. Following are some photos of my obsession...I mean collection.
Emma Bridgewater Pottery from England.
No Passenger sign is part of a subway roll sign I purchased several years ago.
Husband John painted our birthdays on these matching canvasses. No chance of forgetting that special day! Note the little pillow has some text too.
Pottery Barn was selling unstretched canvas panels. I bought one and used it to cover a step stool my dad made years ago.
White painted letters from Michael's fit perfectly above our refrigerator and pantry cupboard.
A large portion of the subway roll sign is framed and hanging in John's manroom (basement). The sign is 7 1/2 feet tall and almost 5 feet wide. When we went to pick it up at the framer's, it would not fit in the back of our Blazer, so we had to rent a U-Haul truck to get it home. Turned out to be an expensive framing job!
Wow! What great examples. I really love the paintings your husband made with your birthdates on them. What a clever idea!

I love text design also and I have lusted after that pottery for years. Your husband's painting is my absolutely favorite, though, of your collections. What a lovely gift!

Hey Ginny, I am such a geek, I was watching this British sitcom, Chef!, and the couple were enjoying their breakfast out of white pottery dishes with black text. I gasped and went "I recognize those dishes!" opened your blog to this post and A HA! I was right! Exact same dishes...so....ummm...I guess that's all I had to say. hahaha I thought it was cool :)
