Wild strawberries, sugar berries straight from the trees, ice cream on a cone from little stands and corner stores, corn on the cob...those are more memory taste-ations from when I was younger.
Now it's tuscan melons, heirloom tomatoes, fresh herbs and nectarines.
California is less season-y than back home so the food doesn't seem as different throughout the year like when I was younger. :)

Blueberries and peaches, together!

Sweetcorn!! Dripping with unsalted butter. It is as sweet as sugar at this time of the year..........

Darn it, Ginny ... that looks so good. Now I'm gonna have to stop at the grocery store on my way home!

Yummy! I was looking at that photo and thinking "balsamic vinaigrette" ;-)

Summer is done here in The Hague. The leaves are starting to change, it's very windy (gusts of 38 MPH today) and cool enough to need a jacket. I know we'll probably still have a few nice days, but really, Autumn is here.
