Is there anything as wonderful as a stroll on the beach early in the morning before it gets clogged up with people? This is the beach at our hotel in Redington Beach, FL. Refreshing and rejuvinating.
There were two reasons for this trip: fishing for John and visiting family for me. John was disappointed that he didn't catch the big fish he planned for, but spending a couple of days out on the water with fellow fishermen and catching smaller fish is still great fun.
Here is John, the great fish hunter:
Here is one unique thing he caught:
Can't tell what it is? It is a little otter who grabbed the hook, swam away and spit it out. It is definitely the first time (and surely the last) otter John has caught. He did "catch" a good story though.
What did I catch? I scored this large bucket full of good size clock innards for some assemblage work we plan to do.
DUDE! I am seriously digging John's pants!! They look like cargo pants with lots o' pockets!!! My fetish for drawers translates into pockets, the more pockets the happier I am :D I once sent my brother (the fisher person in our family) a really cool zillion pocketed fishing vest and have been jealous and kicking myself ever since because I should have a many pocketed vest!! ;)
Also how coincidental that you bought a bunch of clock innards recently, I did as well, but from online. A sort of mish mash batch from actual clocks, grab bag, that's the word I'm looking for. Like a grab bag of clock guts, I can't wait till they get here. But I am not planning assemblages with mine, more like addition-ages to clay characters. haha

Ooo, love the clock parts! Any chance some of them will show up in your Etsy shop?
