Several posts ago I showed some old doors that John made into display units for me, but I never showed you an overall shot of them. It is difficult to take a photo of them since they are in front of our very, very large windows facing the west and the afternoon sun. Readers here have asked to see them, so now follows two photos of our doors.
The next view is from across the store.
The purpose of the doors is twofold: 1. to block some of the reflection from the cars parked in the lot (blinding) 2. to add window display. John put shelves on both sides of the doors so that I can display goods for passerby's and for inside shoppers.
We need one more door, John. Are you listening? John? John, where are you going?
John does a great job with all these store challenges. I don't know how I could have done all this without him.
Perfect! Good job, John. Hey, get back there and get that other door done! You can watch cartoons after you have finished. LOL

Ginny, that is so clever. I will have to come visit since it's hard to imagine that the triangular supports are sturdy enough. However! I trust the man! I need to find a local source for the gingerbread. Hard to come by round here.

You guys obviously work really well together. Those door shelves are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first thought was "oooooh pretty", but pretty AND practical, that's gold!!!!
These pics are my favorite so far of your store.
It's so huge! I am not sure I had a good understanding of the store front's size before but when you see doors all lined up with their goodies on display it gives you a really good sense of scale.
Once again I have to say I love that you upload big pics too. Great for us nosy..er...curious blog readers to click on and peer about your store virtually. :D

These (http://windowdooroakforest.com/doors/) doors look amazing! That is really creative. I'm actually kinda jealous that I hadn't thought of this first. So much junk that is lying around here in Chicago. I may just have to open up my artistical side. Thanks!

Where can I get great windows and doors in vancouver? I just moved here, and I'm not sure where to go to get the finishing touches on my new house!

I am astounded at the skill of interior designers. Their designs are so much better then what I could do on my own. My wife wants to redesign parts of the house - I think i'll have to hire an interior designer to come with us when she picks out doors in Surrey.
